This is the general outline of how Startup Weekends typically roll. However, the groups that come together can decide how they will work best together. Startup Weekends are organized more as an unconference, so the structure of the event is dictated by those who attend. As organizers, we just help bring people together and facilitate the process.
Bring your ideas on Friday. People with ideas for new businesses will pitch them to the group on Friday night. We’ll help guide this process as other members of the group ask questions and decide where their talents would best be applied. Teams then organically form around those ideas that spark the most enthusiasm. From there, teams work for the rest of the weekend to get everything in place to launch a new business.
We’ll take breaks to share ideas, work through road blocks and draw on the collective wisdom of the group… oh, and we’ll probably take some time to eat, too. If it sounds like a lot of work, it is, but it’s also a whole lot of fun.
