Startup Weekend is a intense 54 hour event bringing together brilliant tech minds (developers, designers, marketers, ect.) together to create a company (or as many as the community wants) from concept to launch! You can read more about what the event is here.
Where: Compuware World Headquarters (downtown Detroit)
When: Mar. 27-29, 2009
Cost: $40 per person (get tickets)
From a question on our Facebook Event Page:
Q I can only make friday night. Also why does this event cost money? Isn’t there already sponsorship for it?
A The sponsors have all been in-kind sponsors. No money has changed hands. Luckie created the promo video, PR Newswire distributed and assembled the press release and Compuware is giving us parking and a location. Some food, hosting for the website and other costs are covered with the $40 admission. With Startup Weekend you’re not just getting to talk to people, you actually work for the entire weekend to launch a company. If you just wanted to stop by and observe Friday evening that would be fine — since you wouldn’t be able to participate for the remainder of the weekend.
